Erick Lindgren Biography

Erick Lindgren was born in Burney, California on the 11th of August, 1976.  Erick played a lot of competitive sports as a child including baseball, football and basketball, and he had dreams of making it to the big leagues.  Unfortunately, Erick wasn’t good enough, so he had to settle for a lucrative poker career.  After failing to get a scholarship after high school Erick got work at the local casino, while he attended the local college.  It was here that Erick was introduced to the game of poker and his career really began.

When Lindgren wasn’t working at the casino, he was there playing the low stake cash games and watching his game improve.  He got good enough that he dropped out of school, quit his job and started playing professionally.  Erick knew his parents wouldn’t be too pleased with his decision so he kept the news to himself until he had earned enough money and worked up enough confidence to tell them the truth.

After about five years of playing professionally Lindgren decided to move to the gambling hub of the world, Las Vegas.  Erick had instant success in Vegas with a big $230,000 win at the Bellagio Poker Classic tournament just a little while after he moved.

It was Lindgren’s success in 2004, however, that really put him on the poker map.  Lindgren had an impressive showing in many WPT events and ended up taking home the title of WPT player of the year.  In ’05 Lindgren continued to pile up the cash with a win on the Pro Poker Tour and two more final tables finishes in WPT events.  In 2008 Erick finally got the monkey off his back and won his first and only WSOP bracelet.  Erick has now won more than $4,000,000 in his tournament poker career.

Erick is a full member of team Full Tilt and being a member of this team requires certain responsibilities.  One of these responsibilities is hosting an FTOPS event, but nobody said anything about having to win it.  Erick Lindgren hosted FTOPS event #9 in ’08 and became the first Full Tilt Pro to ever win the online tournament they were hosting.  Lindgren outlasted 5,600 players to accomplish this remarkable feat and took home $291,000 for his efforts.

Erick is pretty tight with a lot of other top poker players including Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu.  He love making golf prop bets and with his group of friends it’s not hard to get action.  There is actually a bet out right now between him and Ivey that Phil won’t beat Erick over 72 holes in 8 years from the start of the bet.  So as you can tell from the specifications of that bet, Erick is quite the accomplished golfer.

Erick is a lot of fun and never shies away from the action.   Check him out on Full Tilt Poker, but don’t be surprised if he wins the next FTOPS event he hosts.
